Sports brief for August 4

The Moffat County High School fall sports season is around the corner.
The boys varsity golf team begins its practices for the upcoming season one week before the five other sports teams, as fall tryouts will begin at 7 a.m. today at the Yampa Valley Golf Course.
Coach Ken Harjes said all interested golfers are welcome to try out, but some golf experience is required.
