Hayden holds awards banquet

Hayden High School held its awards banquet Tuesday for the winter season athletic teams.

Junior Holli Salazar was named to the 2A Western Slope League girls basketball all-conference team for the second consecutive season.

Junior Kylie Sweetser earned all-conference honorable mention.

In boys basketball, senior hoopster Jordan Williams earned all-conference honors for the Tigers.

Senior Brad Parrott and sophomore Murphy Smartt were named honorable mention.

Boys baseball schedule changes

The Moffat County High School varsity boys baseball team has undergone a schedule change.

MCHS changed its originally scheduled Saturday home doubleheader against Delta to a road game.

First pitch for Game 1 is 11 a.m. Game 2 is slated for a 1 p.m. start.

Hospital classic registration open

Registration is open for the 2008 Children's Hospital Courage Classic.

The 19th annual Courage Classic is set for July 26 to 28 at Copper Mountain.

Options include:

• July 26 to 28 - The Courage Classic. A traditional three-day, 157-mile cycling adventure.

• July 27 - The Century Option. On the tour's second day, advanced cyclists can head up Ute Pass to tackle 100 miles instead of the day's 54-mile route.

• July 27 - Family Ride. A 35-mile route designed for cyclists of all ages.

Most importantly, riders will be supporting The Children's Hospital.
