To seniors living in Maybell, the vehicle used for trips to Craig is a lifeline, a means to stop at the doctor and dentist, as well as shopping centers. The bus will pick residents up at their homes, and it occasionally takes groups on field trips to Browns Park or Steamboat Springs.

Every day there are stories to be told in Moffat County that serve as small reminders about why we choose to live and work in our small community. Numerous times we read in the newspaper how our community comes together in a time of need to provide assistance during and after an emergency. But a story that you won’t see in newspaper headlines, or television broadcasts, and certainly a story that you won’t hear in very many other communities in the state or the country, is the story about our small community police department that went far above and beyond what is expected.
