Tricia Dampier, the Colorado director for the Mrs. America Pageant, recently announced that the search for the new Mrs. Craig has begun.
Once selected, the community representative will advance to compete in the Mrs. Colorado Pageant on May 17 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver. City and county titleholders will compete to win more than $15,000 in prizes, one of which includes an all-expenses paid trip to the nationally televised Mrs. America Pageant.
Interested applicants must live or work in the Craig area, must be married during the time of competition, be a resident of the state for at least six months, a United States citizen and be at least 18 years old. There is no age limit or performing talent.
In its 32nd year, the Mrs. America Pageant is the only nationally televised pageant dedicated to recognizing the person who contributes to modern family life, the American married woman. While beauty is a key element in the competition, Mrs. Colorado contestants also are urged to voice their opinions on marriage and important issues of the day.
Interested applicants are invited to find out more about the competition at www.mrscolorado.com and can request and receive free entry information by calling Dampier at the Mrs. Colorado office at 303-904-3709.
