The Carbon County Council of Governments plans to meet in Baggs,Wyo., Wednesday to discuss the proposed optional 1 percent tax and hear other reports.
Reservations to attend the dinner portion of the meeting must be made by the close of business Friday by calling Marla Brown or Deb Lucero at 328-4500, or the Baggs Town Hall at 383-7335. The dinner of deli sandwiches and salads is served at 6 p.m.
The business portion of the meeting begins at 7 p.m. Both are being held at the Carbon County Higher Education Center building on Whippoorwill Drive in Baggs.
Besides hearing about the proposed tax, council members are to hear from Shelly Anderson about the Historic Trails Resource Conservation and Development program and what benefits it can have for county communities.
Linda Fleming of Baggs is slated to present a report on the influences of natural resources development in southwestern Carbon County.
The meeting is open to the public.
