Craig — The American Legion Auxiliary of Craig will be sponsoring a program called the Little Hero Bears. The Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion have joined forces to distribute "Little Hero" bears to the local Fire Department, members of the Ambulance Department and advocates.

We are looking for local and corporate sponsors to help pay for the bears as a fund raiser, so we can donate the proceeds to the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund, as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Children and Youth Scholarship Fund.

Our process is to purchase the bears, then recruit corporate sponsors to purchase the bears for $20 each. We can then give the aforementioned agencies above the bears; the profits will then go toward the scholarships mentioned.

We intend to present the bears at 7 p.m. Sept. 18 at the American Legion Post - Shadow Mountain Clubhouse.
