Craig — Dr. James W. McCreight of McCreight Progressive Dentistry has been awarded the Las Vegas Institute Clinical Instructor of the Year.

The award was presented to McCreight at the annual LVI Instructors meeting July 18 in Chicago in conjunction with the International Academy of Comprehensive Aesthetic annual meeting.

The award was based on evaluations from dentists from the United States and Canada attending LVI's post-doctorate training programs in cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry.

McCreight is an adjunct clinical instructor at the Institute and helps with several of the "live" patient programs that are taught throughout the year which focus on cosmetic and neuromuscular full mouth reconstruction.

McCreight, along with his wife Dr. Wendy McCreight, founded Yampa Valley Dental in 1998 and recently changed the office's name to McCreight Progressive Dentistry. Last downtown farmer's market

The last farmer's market in downtown Craig will from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Alice Pleasant Park. Watch for the farmer's market to start in July 2008. Call 824-5343 for more information.

Church barbecue shows appreciation

The Maybell Interdenominational Bible Church will host a community barbecue at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 at the church. The church is throwing the barbecue in appreciation of the people who helped build the church.

Daryl Steele is furnishing the meat and Don Steele is cooking. All food, drinks and table service are provided.

Learn to sing with the Sweet Adelines
