First Christian Church hosts its annual Funfest, a Halloween alternative, from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church, 960 W. Victory Way. Tickets are 10 cents each and can be used at a variety of carnival booths. Chili dinner is $3. Costumes are optional.
Trick-or-treating at Sandrock Ridge
Trick-or-treating is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehab, on the corner of Ledford and Eighth Drive.
Love INC to host coat distribution Saturday
The next distribution day for the Love INC coat drive is Saturday at First Congregational Church, 630 Green St. Volunteers will be available to assist people needing a coat from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Anyone who needs a coat may come and get a free coat regardless of income. The only rule is one coat per person. Parents may pick up coats for their children.

Car clinic open to
A free car care clinic - available to single mothers, seniors and handicapped residents - is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1150 W. Ninth St. Volunteers will check all fluids and top them off if needed, test anti-freeze, air up tires and check treads, lights, battery connections, horn and wipers and arrange for discounted repairs and oil changes if possible.

Parent accountability committee meets Nov. 5
The Moffat County High School Parent Accountability Committee meets from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 in the high school library.
Meetings begin with a "Let's listen" session, in which parents may bring concerns and commendations to the group. Whenever needed, additional time and research are devoted to these concerns.
PAC meetings serves as an advisory for the principal, as well as a sounding board for new ideas, materials, concepts and concerns for the community. Revisions in high school policies are reviewed, and recommendations are made to the principal.
Family Fair connects Spanish-speakers
A Family Fair, with workshops on nutrition, home health, diabetes, interpretation and more, is scheduled for from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Boys and Girls Club of Craig and from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Steamboat Springs and Thursday.
The Family Fair's mission is to connect Spanish-speaking families to the information and services they need to keep their families healthy and safe.
