5 p.m. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary No. 4265 hosts its monthly Senior Citizen's Dinner at the VFW restaurant. The menu will consist of beef stew, biscuits and fruit Jell-O. Call Jeannie Wixson at 276-3145.

6 p.m. First-year nursing students from Colorado Northwestern Community College host an annual fundraiser dinner at the Center of Craig. Tickets are $20 a person. 1:30 p.m. The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary bingo is at the VFW Hall, 419 E. Victory Way. Open to the public. Sunday bingo sessions occur every week. Call Mary Walters at 824-2923.

6 p.m. The Humane Society of Moffat County hosts its monthly meeting at the Golden Cavvy. The meeting is open to the public.

6:30 p.m. The Craig Middle School Parent Advisory Committee meets in the middle school cafeteria. All CMS parents are invited to attend.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

9 to 11 a.m. The Moffat County Department of Social Services distributes food allocated by the United States Department of Agriculture at 595 Breeze St. in Craig. Families that receive USDA commodities must be recertified each year. Photo identification, proof of address, income or current eligibility is required. Call Social Services at 824-8282.

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Home School Support Group meets at Michelle Peters' home, 280 Knoll. RSVP Michelle by Oct. 6. Call 620-0283.

9 to 9:30 a.m. The Moffat County Department of Social Services distributes food allocated by the United States Department of Agriculture at the Maybell Community Center. 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Northwest Colorado Gardening Club invites the public to attend a free program addressing how to live with or without deer, skunks, mice, bats, bears and other local wildlife. The program will take place at the Colorado State University Moffat County Extension Office, 539 Barclay Street and will be presented by CSU Master Gardener, Cathy Park.
