That seems to be the magic number for the Craig Chamber of Commerce's upcoming fifth annual CrabFest, an evening of dinner, entertainment and community camaraderie.
As in, Chamber of Commerce director Christina Currie said, 300 pounds of Alaskan king crab legs, 300 potatoes, 300 ears of corn and 300 biscuits ordered for the event.
"It's a really good evening and a really good deal," Currie said. "We order about a pound of crab per person."
CrabFest, scheduled for Oct. 12 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion, is one of the Chamber of Commerce's biggest fundraisers of the year. Proceeds also help pay for staffing and operating the Moffat County Visitor's Center.
Tickets are on sale and cost $40 each. They can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way, or through any Chamber board member.
Of the 250 tickets allotted for CrabFest, about half have already been sold, Currie said.
"We expect to sell out," she said. "It's a really fun night. This is our fifth year, and we've had a really good response from the community."
A cash bar and dessert buffet are also available during the event.
For entertainment, a professional comedian will perform. There also is a silent auction. Items available in the silent auction include a crab package containing six pounds of crab, crackers, bibs and butter warmers, a wine basket, a handmade afghan and fly-fishing lessons, among other items.
Those wishing to attend CrabFest are encouraged to purchase tickets before they're sold out.
Currie, who described the event as a gathering that offers a unique flare not usually found in Craig, said attendees will get their money's worth in dinner and good times at CrabFest.
"And it's all for a good cause, so that makes it all the better," she said. "Everybody wins."
