Craig — The Sportswomen of Colorado is announcing that the online summer camps scholarship opportunity registration will be available starting Dec. 1 through April 15, 2008.

The scholarship program is available to Colorado girls, ages 9 through the eighth-grade. All girls who are looking to participate in summer camps for soccer, basketball, gymnastics, and volleyball are encouraged to apply. "It's the way we help get girls involved in athletics," said Sportswomen of Colorado summer camps coordinator Jack Meehan. "The girls we pick to receive scholarships from Craig will have an opportunity to participate in sports camps at Mesa State University."

Girls attending high school are not eligible. More than 100 scholarships will be awarded April 20, 2008. Winners will be notified after the scholarships are awarded.

All eligible girls, their parents, guardians or teachers can apply by going to: www.sportswomenofcolorado.org. Click on Summer Camp Programs and sign up online or download a nomination form and fax or mail it to Summer Camp office. Contact information is on the form.
