Each year, coaches vote and decide which high school athletes have earned the right to be named to their respective all-conference teams. Newspapers throughout Northwest Colorado have decided to vote and announced a separate team of deserving athletes.

Moffat County seniors Amy Dilldine and Angie Charchalis were named to the first team of the All-Western Colorado Press high school girls volleyball team.

"It's exciting," MCHS head coach Brianna Montgomery said. "We had a great year."

First-year Bulldog coach Montgomery also was named coach of the year.

She downplayed the recognition.

"It's an honor," she said. "But it's the least of my concerns. Me getting an award isn't what it's about. I know the type of season we had."
