November 22, 2007
Craig The U.S. Postal Service has produced two attractive color souvenir envelopes that will be available to the public starting Friday. They sell for $10 each.
Approved by a licensee for Major League Baseball, the first souvenir purple colored envelope features the words "2007 National League Champions" along with images of the Colorado Rockies logo and World Series insignia and the word "Rocktober."
It has photos of several Rockies stars including Matt Holliday, Todd Helton, Troy Tulowitzki, Manny Corpas, Kaz Matsui, Jeff Francis, Garrett Atkins and others.
The second collectible envelope, colored in yellow, shows photos of several of these Rockies stars along with photos of Red Sox stars Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz and other players.
It also includes images of the World Series trophy and insignia, the logos of the Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox.
Both envelopes are postmarked "Oct 27, 2007, Denver, CO" to highlight the first World Series playoff game ever played in Colorado.
