Area briefs for May 30

What will performers from Germany, New York and Tucson, Ariz., be doing in Craig? Appearing for the 2007-08 Craig Concert Association series.

Each year the Craig Concert Association has provided world-class entertainment for the Yampa Valley, according to a press release. Membership to the concert association is open to the public, but admission to the series is by purchasing a season ticket.
Season memberships are offered at $30 for adults, $10 for students or $70 for a family of four. A season ticket admits the purchaser to six performances.

This year, the Craig Concert Association is featuring acts such as the Santa Cruz River Band, scheduled for February. The group from Arizona has a Southwestern flair and will perform a variety of songs ranging from "La Bamba" to "Don't Be Cruel."

Humorist Michel Lauziere performs in March. He has performed on the American Comedy Awards, the Arsenio Hall Show and half-time shows at NBA games.

There also is a local talent show. The Craig Concert Association holds auditions for this annual event, which showcases your neighbors, rom grade-school violinists to that garage band down the street.

To join, get a membership form from Saturday's Craig Daily Press, or send your check, made payable to Craig Concert Association, to PO Box 364, Craig, CO 81626. You have until May 31 to send in your membership. For more information, call Gail Petch at 824-6654.
