Gary W. Lingo was born Jan. 21, 1945, in Long Beach, Calif., to Ralph and Edna (Check) Lingo.
Gary was raised and attended school in Long Beach, graduating from high school there. Following high school he attended college in Cerritos for three years.
He married Jeanette Ewen in 1962 in Long Beach, Calif. Gary worked as a printer for 15 years, and then for Texaco Oil Company for 25 years as a head operator.
His marriage to Jeanette ended. He married Kristine "Tina" Peppard on Nov. 13, 1967. Gary lived in the Buena Park area prior to moving to Craig in 2000.
Gary loved to fish, boat, shoot and to race his car. He loved to drive his truck and he loved kids. He was a member of NRA.
He is survived by his children, Terry (Marla) Lingo of Yucaipa, Calif., Billy (Sheryl) Lingo of Grass Valley, Calif.; Shawn (April) Lingo of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Elliot Lingo of Westminster, Calif., Kristina Lingo of Caliente, Nev., and Steve Lingo of Craig; brother, Dale (Karen) Lingo of Ajijic Jalisco, Mexico; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his former wife Tina Barstow of Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gene.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 23 at Grant Mortuary Chapel. Officiating was Pastor Rod Compton, who also played his guitar and sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace."
Interment followed in the Craig Cemetery.
