The second in a 10-race Hayden Speedway summer season is slated for 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
The May 19 Invitational is sponsored by Annette Hall Prudential Realty. The gates open at 4 p.m.
Sport stocks, street stocks, super streets and open wheel "modified" make up the four different classes of competition.
A sport stock consists of four cylinder cars; street stock has mostly Camaros and Monte Carlos; super stock is similar to street stock, but they also use high performance pistons and aftermarket heads; and open wheel is more commonly referred to as "modifieds."
Phil Goodwin, Hayden Speedway promoter, said there would be a minimum of 12 races and the night should conclude by 10 p.m.
"Three hours is a quite a long time for fans to sit out there," Goodwin said. "We try not to have the kids out there too late either."
Annette Hall has been sponsoring the Hayden Speedway "for years" and considers herself a big fan of NASCAR.
"I think the money I spend (sponsorship) helps keep the speedway going, and I think more people need to support it," Hall said.
As a sponsor, the money goes toward gas, upkeep of the speedway and repairs after drivers incur race-related crashes.
"I sponsor the speedway to put money into it and mainly because I enjoy going out there."
