First Congregational United Church of Christ offers lock in

The First Congregational United Church of Christ is offering a chance for all Craig youth to get together Saturday night.

At 6 p.m. Saturday, the congregation hosts Night At The Church, an over-night lock-in event, that lasts until 12:30 p.m. Sunday at First Congregational, 630 Green Street.

Pastor Bob Woods said any youths from Craig are invited to participate. All anyone needs to bring is a pillow and sleeping bag. Dinner and a pancake breakfast will be provided.

"We wanted to offer this for the kids in the community to come and spend the night together with Jesus," Woods said.

Participants will play games and do crafts throughout the night.

In the morning, Communities Overcoming Meth Abuse, or C.O.M.A., will give two presentations.

One will be geared toward youths and the other is meant for parents and adults. The presentation will be at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Also that morning, there will be a story-time for younger children and Christian classes for others.

Woods said this is the first lock-in his church has organized.

He said he's expecting about 20 youths from his congregation, but all youths from the community are invited.
