Local youth wrestlers see success at Classic


The Moffat County Youth Wrestling team placed five grapplers May 5 at the Gladiator Classic at Coal Ridge High School.

Justin Case, a pre-kindergartner, came in second place.


Miki Klimper, a second-grader, placed first with a 2-1 record, and received the Most Outstanding Wrestler award for the season.

Issik Herod, a fourth-grader, came in fourth place with a 2-2 record.

Third-graders Brady Springer and Danny White rounded out the scoring.

Bad Dogs wrestlers place at Classic

The Bad Dogs Wrestling team had a number of top three wrestlers May 5 at the Gladiator Classic at Coal Ridge High School.

Jake Shelton, a pre-kindergartner, came in second place.

Chris Moschetti (first place) and Elias Peroulils (second place) are both in first-grade.

The following are in second grade: Colton Hall (third place), Devlin Mossman (second place), Matt Moschetti (first place), Mike Bingham (first place), Chase Rule (third place), Devin Mossman (first place), and Thomas Baker (first place).

In third grade, Robbie Jensen came in second place; Shandon Hadley, first; T.J. Shelton, second; Devin Pontine, first; and Stelious Peroulis, first.

Fourth-graders Ashley Griffifth came in first place, Heath Peters second and Shelton second.

Peters came in second place in the fifth-grade division. Bingham placed first in the sixth-grade division.

Bingham, Pontine, Hadley, and Mossman all received Outstanding Wrestler awards for the season.
