Wide load to travel through area
Contractor Cargo Company will be bringing an oversized load from Wyoming to Colorado. CCC will be traveling today, leaving Baggs, Wyo., at 8 a.m. and traveling south on state Route 13 to County Road 5. The load is 20 feet wide and may require brief lane closures along the route.

Immunization clinic for children May 12

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association in Craig hosts a children's immunization clinic with Craig Fire/Rescue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the fire station, 419 Yampa Ave.

There will be free shots for children younger than 6 and hot dogs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children who get vaccinated also will get to go on a ride with the firefighters and see all the gear the fire department uses. For children ages 6 to 18, a sliding scale fee will be used and shots will be free to $14. Children must bring an updated immunization record.

Clinic offers free sports physicals for athletes

The Moffat County Family Clinic will be doing free sports physicals for all Moffat County, Hayden and Baggs athletes. Appointments are available until July 31. For further questions call 970-824-3252.

Shadow Mountain street repair this week

Moffat County will be crack sealing the streets of Shadow Mountain from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It is requested that vehicles be removed from the streets during the two-day project. Call 824-3211.

Stamp cost increases to 41 cents Monday

The cost to send a letter increases Monday. A First-Class letter will cost 41 cents to mail, marking a 2-cent increase.

Post offices currently are selling 41-cent stamps, as well as 1- and 2-cent stamps for those who still have 39-cent stamps.

Postcards will cost 26 cents to mail, and other shipping costs also have increased.

Letter carriers food drive is Saturday

This year is the 15th anniversary of the nation's largest one-day food drive to feed those in need.

The Stamp Out Hunger drive is conducted by the National Association of Letter Carriers. On May 12, letter

carriers will be collecting nonperishable food donations along their delivery routes for the Interfaith Food Bank in our community.

Place a food donation by or in your mailbox on Saturday before your mail is delivered. You also may drop off your donation at the post office lobby in a designated bin.

Caregiver support group forming

Anyone interested in joining a support group for caregivers of people with neurological disorders is asked to call Carol Gordon of Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association at 870-3232.
