Library events set for March, April

Reading events continue at the Moffat County Libraries Craig branch through April at 10 a.m. on Thursdays.


The March 29 theme is spiders. Visitors will hear stories about these spectacular, web-spinning critters.

The April 5 theme is bunnies and eggs. Silly stories about bunnies will be read.

The April 12 theme is baby animals.

The April 19 theme is the human body. This week, spend some time getting to know the human body in stories and art.

The April 26 theme is spring. April showers bring Mayflowers and with summer around the corner, spring is definitely here.

Boy Scouts' Pinewood Derby on April 7

Craig Cub Scout Pack No. 166 has its Pinewood Derby at 10 a.m. April 7 at Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.

There is an open division in addition to the Cub Scout divisions that anyone is welcome to participate in. You must use an official BSA Pinewood Derby kit to make your car, and it cannot weigh more than 5 ounces.

Weigh-ins are at the mall from 6 to 10 p.m. April 6. There is a secondary weigh-in at 8 a.m. April 7, if needed.

Mystery Dinner Theater scheduled for March 31

The third annual Mystery Dinner Theater is scheduled for 7 p.m. March 31 at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig.

Recreational After-School Doorway, the Boys & Girls Club and the Craig Daily Press are presenting the event. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit RAD.

This year's theme is "Murder at Buffalo Chip." Characters include gunslingers, church ladies, mountain men, Indians, gamblers and outlaws.

Tickets cost $40 and include a prime rib dinner. Tables of 10 are $350. Tickets are available at the Daily Press, 466 Yampa Ave.
