The City Park Cafe, the restaurant at the VFW Post 4625 building under a new name, is hosting a corned beef and cabbage special Saturday.
The restaurant will serve this St. Patty's special from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information, call the VFW at 824-7145.
Next week, there are scheduled monthly meetings for Veteran Service Organiza-tions in Craig.
The VFW meets Monday at the post, 419 E. Victory Way. The American Legion meets Tuesday at the Shadow Mountain complex on Coun-ty Road 7.
If you are a member, or wish to join, please attend. There are several veteran holidays and observances that are coming up this spring, and the more vets in attendance, the better.
Sew MUCH Comfort
Mary Walters could use more volunteer seamstress assistance, and donations to purchase supplies for the adaptive clothing she is making and sending to the national organization.
If you have time to sew or wish to contribute, call her at 824-2923.
Anniversary coming up
March 19 marks the fourth anniversary of the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
We need to stop, reflect and pray for those standing in harm's way. This enemy doesn't care whom they kill or maim. Their goal is to test the resolve of this nation to commit to battle.
So even if we do pull out of Iraq, this extremist war will be brought to our shore, in whatever way they can deliver the attack. That attack won't be against armed forces that can defend themselves, but an attack to cause the greatest carnage and shock so that they will be the "feared enemy" that we cannot defend against.
