Typical Father's Day activities include hunting and fishing.

But before fathers cast their fishing line and sight their guns, The First Christian Church invites fathers to attend a casual ‘man-friendly' church event.

"First Christian Church is going all out for Father's Day," said Taber Cass, minister of First Christian Church. "We are creating an outdoor atmosphere inside the church with head mounts and camouflage."

Cass will be officiating the Great Outdoors Event 10 a.m. Sunday at the First Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way.

He encourages those who attend to dress casual.

"Camouflage, fishing and hunting attire will help create the theme for this event," Cass said.

The event will last an hour, with family-oriented activities and a short 10-minute message given by Cass.

Hunting DVDs will be given to those who attend as a gift from The First Christian Church.

Cass believes the laid back event will allow families to be stress free on the special day.

"We have a low attendance of males in our church," Cass said, "This event is a way to get men more involved."
