William (Bill) R. Nash
William (Bill) R. Nash was born Sept. 27,1941, in Colorado Springs, to John and Mary (Casteel) Nash. He was raised and attended school in Colorado Springs.
Bill married Sally Anderson on June 24, 1976, in Colorado Springs. They moved to Craig in 1979 and Bill worked for Northern Coal Company.
He previously worked in the lumber industry for U.S. Plywood. While living in Craig he worked for the Moffat County School District, and worked at the Craig Station power plant for a year.
Bill worked as a long haul truck driver for many years. He was a true expert at any heavy equipment drive.
The past six years he worked for the Department of Transportation, where he hauled the paint and chemicals for highway painting crews during the summer months and drove the snow- plow during the winter. He worked with the maintenance crew.
He also drove the mail delivery trucks for George and Ann Kidder.
Bill lived life and enjoyed people he came in contact with. He had many friends.
He would do anything to lend a helping hand. He loved Christian and country music.
At one time he played bass in a band in Colorado Springs. Bill loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
He loved horses, wildlife, and spending as much time as possible in Buford at a cabin enjoying the mountains.
Bill died May 3, 2007, at The Memorial Hospital in Craig. He was 65.
He is survived by his wife Sally Nash of Craig; daughter Denise (Dan) Cagliaro of Palmer Lake; sons Brian (Stella) Nash of Colorado Springs; Jeff (Barbara) Rice of Rio Rancho, N.M.; grandchildren Jess and Michaela Cagliaro, Melissa and Matthew Nash, Lauren and Zane Rice; brothers John Nash of Colorado Springs, Tom Nash of St. Louis, Miss.; sister-in-law Glenda (Ray) Christensen of Craig; five nieces and a nephew.
No services took place per Bill's request. A private ceremony will take place this fall.
