Eleven gymnasts from Gymstar Fun N Fit Gymnastics recently qualified to represent Craig on June 23 and 24 at the state championships in Castle Rock.
The tumbling youth range from 6 to 12 years old and qualified for the Colorado EAGLES state championships at regular season qualifiers in Montrose, Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction.
EAGLES stands for Elementary, Artistic, Gymnastics, League & Education System.
Gymnasts advanced based on scoring a minimum number of all-around scores after competing in vault, balance beam, bars and floor workouts.
Kelly Davidson, owner of Gymstar Fun N Fit Gymnastics and head coach, said gymnasts can't compete among the state's best until they have reached level three.
The Colorado EAGLES Web site describes level three as "an entry level where we want children to experience success ... this level is for the very beginner competitor."
Allison Irwin, Jaidyn Steele, Addie Dietrich, Kinlie Brennise, Amber Newell and Hope Hall, all 6, join Dani Hauger, 9, Dajia Lewis, 7, Samantha Ahlmer, 10, Krystle Bohrer, 12, and Kaleya Moya, 10.
Hall qualified, but is unable to join her teammates.
Bohrer and Moya compete at level four.
