— The Moffat County Libraries Craig branch, 570 Green St., hosts a 2007 Summer Reading Program Completion Party from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday. Events include storytelling, flannel board, puppet show, magic show and prize drawings.

DOW offers hunter education course

The Colorado Division of Wildlife will be sponsoring a hunter education course from Aug. 13 to Aug. 17. Classes run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Colorado Northwestern Community College, Craig Campus. All five classes must be attended. Call 272-3238 or 824-7848 for more information or to pre-register.

HPV vaccine available through VNA

The Human Papillomavirus vaccine is now available through the Colorado Vaccines for Children program for VFC eligible females 9 to 18 years of age.

The vaccine protects against four major types of HPV. These include types of HPV that cause approximately 70 percent of cervical cancer and 90 percent of genital warts. HPV is spread through sexual contact.

Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association provides vaccinations for children under 19 years of age on a sliding scale of $0 to $14.50 per shot. No child will be refused a vaccine due to an inability to pay.

Additionally, VNA can provide the vaccine to eligible low-income women ages 19 to 26 years old that have no insurance under Merck's Patient Assistance Program.
