Craig Jeananne Wright, a renowned quilt appraiser certified by the American Quilter's Society, will be in Craig to appraise your old and new quilts. Call 824-6213 to arrange an appointment.
8 a.m. to noon. The Humane Society of Moffat County is hosting a garage sale at 1118 Van Dorn, on the corner of 10th Street and Van Dorn. Proceeds go toward Humane Society. Donations for garage sale are still being accepted. Call Ann 826-2717 for more information or to set up off a drop off time.
9 a.m. to noon. Sand Springs Swine hosts a fundraiser for 4-H at Chapman's Automotive Center, 310 E. Victory Way. Donations welcome.
10 a.m. The Hands-on Quilters meet at the Craig Fire Station. Take July and August Love of Quilting, if you have it. Call Cheryl at 824-2567.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. First Baptist Small Group Project will sponsor a free car care clinic for single mothers, seniors and the disabled at 1150 W. Ninth St. Volunteers will perform various maintenance and diagnostic tasks, as well as arrange for discounts on small repairs and oil changes with local mechanics. By appointment only. 1 to 2 p.m. SHARE Craig, a program that offers low-cost groceries, has a distribution day at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939.
2 p.m. Author Jeff Stoddard, former Moffat County High School graduate, reads from his new children's book, "Pete & Pillar," at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave. Light refreshments will be provided.

5 p.m. United Mine Workers of America hosts a meeting for all members of Local 1799 at The Center of Craig.

4 to 6 p.m. The Equality in Health cooperative hosts the Cultural Competency Panel, a discussion designed to increase awareness about Hispanic/Latino culture, in the Platinum Room of the Craig Visiting Nurse Association, 360 E. Victory Way. Call Teresa Wright at 871-7639.
6 p.m. A bowling pin shoot is at Bears Ears Gun Range. Call Steve Sloan (826-9778 in the evenings) or Robin Sloan (824-6163 during the day).
7 p.m. Comunidad Integrada offers a free English and Spanish learning club, Intercambio, every Tuesday at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40. Call 846-5521.
8:30 to 10 p.m. The Grand Futures Prevention Coalition hosts a Summer Splash Party for fifth- and sixth-graders at Craig City Pool. Admission is $5 per person and covers pizza, soda and swimming.
Wednesday, Aug. 1
8 a.m. The Craig Downtown Business Association meets at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. The second Wednesday of each month is a meet-and-greet, hosted by a local business.
Noon. The Red Hat Society has a potluck at the Craig Fire Station. Bring a dish to share and your own table service and drink. Call Peggy at 824-2338.
5:30 p.m. The Craig Beautification Committee has its weekly meeting at the Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way. The public is invited to attend. Bring work gloves and gardening tools.
Thursday, Aug. 2

The panel is a forum to increase awareness about healthcare issues for the Hispanic/Latino community.
