Craig residents and visitors celebrated the Fourth of July in a variety of ways, with the usual three-day holiday cut down to a one-day mid-week event this year.

Gina Zabel was understandably hysterical when she heard the news that her youngest daughter, Taylen, 7, had a brain tumor. Gina’s husband, Ty, and oldest daughter, Tyanna, 11, cried as well. The only composed person in the room was Taylen herself, who patted her mom’s leg and told her everything would be OK.

Ninety days into the mosquito spraying program run by Moffat County, crews have yet to come across an insect infected with West Nile Virus.

From the studio that made you love bugs, monsters and fish comes the next logical choice: rats.
