Mary Wursten Cook was born Dec. 18, 1920, in Logan, Utah, to Herman and Lena (Hofler) Cook. She was raised and attended school in Logan.
Mary married Sterling Cook on June 7, 1939, in Vernal, Utah, and to this union four children were born. They lived in Rangley for many years and moved to Maybell where she has resided for the past 23 years. Mary was happy caring for her family and her home. She was always very supportive of her husband in his work.
Mary was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and for many years was a member of the Sweet Adelines singing group. She enjoyed singing, bicycling and hiking.
Mary died on January 5, 2007, at The Sandrock Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Rosemarie) Cook of Rangley, John (Leslie) Cook of Maybell, Rodney (Tammy) Cook of Craig, daughter-in-law Rita Jones of Wasilla, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling, son, Joe, her parents, sisters, Alma, Aldeen, Sabina, Lillian, Willa and her brother, Joe.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Craig. Interment followed in Vernal Memorial Park.
