Going into Saturday's meet with tired arms, the Moffat County High School girls swim team took fourth at the Grand Junction swim meet.
The Bulldogs scored 255 points. Gunnison High School took first, with 283 points.
"It went really well," MCHS coach Marin Campbell said. "This is the last meet that they're swimming pretty tired at, so there were some great swims for as hard as they've been working. The girls whose last meet is regionals are going to start tapering this week."
Caitlin Conci placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1 minute, 5.43 seconds. She also took first in the 100 backstroke at 1:05.27, which is a state-qualifying time. Caitlin Conci already has qualified in the 200 individual medley.
Kelsey Conci finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:08.26. She took second in the 100 freestyle at 58.06. She qualified for state in both events. Kelsey previously had qualified in the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.
Genna Bradley splashed in a first-place finish off the 1-meter diving board, with a score of 181.2.

In the 200 free, Andria Dremel finished ninth (2:47.19) and Megan Knez was 10th (2:56.03).
In the 200 individual medley, Katherine Dodd took seventh (2:52.60), Katie Knez was eighth (2:54.72) and Kelsey Pierson was ninth (2:58.09).
In the 50 free, Sara Kruz was eighth (29.27), Meghan Innes was ninth (29.49), Cameo Wilson was 13th (31.60), Megan Knez was 14th (31.92), Kyra Workman was 16th (33.07), Clare Sorrentino was 19th (34.00) and Jessica Knez was 24th (36.21).
In the 100 butterfly, Innes (1:21.00) was fifth and Pierson was eighth (1:25.88).
In the 100 freestyle, Tasha Romney was ninth (1:07.21), Dodd was 11th (1:08.33), Megan Trujillo was 12th (1:09.02), Sorrentino was 19th (1:14.75), and Workman was 20th (1:16.01).
In the 500 free, Wilson was ninth (7:32.84) and Jessica Knez was 11th (8:12.57).
In the 100 backstroke, Trujillo was fourth (1:14.11) and Dremel was 10th (1:28.54).
In the 100 breaststroke, Romney was fifth, dropping three seconds off her time (1:20.35), Sara Kurz was sixth (1:21.03) and Katie Knez was 11th (1:27.36).
Moffat County's 200 medley relay teams finished fourth at 2:08.17 and ninth at 2:28.78, respectively.
The 200 free relay teams were fourth (1:58.28) and seventh (2:10.25), respectively.
The 400 free relay teams fourth (4:29.98) and ninth at (6:06.37), respectively.
The Bulldogs travel to Delta on Saturday.
"It's a fast pool," Campbell said. "I know the girls really like that pool, so they're excited to head down there. And it's the last regular meet of the season, so it's kind of bittersweet."
