Monday's meeting of the Moffat County Libraries Board of Trustees had a different look as newly appointed board members Diana Cook, Kathey Ogle and Jennifer Riley took seats for the first time.
Reviewing the last month, it was noted that Story Hours in December had 45 participants in attendance, and six persons attended "Ask a Lawyer" night Jan. 6.
The 2007 statewide Summer Reading theme is "Get a Clue at Your Library," and treasure hunts will be held in the library.
The Craig Branch report showed that several copies of new books are found at the library, along with a number of classic fiction audios on compact disc.
The process of changing out old light fixtures with newer, more efficient fixtures continues at the Craig Branch, with occasional sections being closed during installation.
The board also discussed replacing the library's Jeep, which is used for trips between the Craig, Maybell and Dinosaur branches. The former Sheriff's Office vehicle currently has 149,000 miles on it and experienced some major repairs in 2006.
Director of Craig Libraries Donna Watkins said commissioner Saed Tayyara had committed $15,000 to a line item on the budget for a new library vehicle, which combined with the Jeep as a trade in should be enough to acquire a reliable new vehicle.
Board training for new members was discussed, with plans for a half-day session being considered in the coming months.
Jennifer Riley was appointed treasurer for the board.
The next meeting of the board of trustees will be on Feb. 19.
