Nine Moffat County High School wrestlers made it to the title match at Saturday's Las Vegas Tournament.
Four walked away as champions, including 189-pound senior Nick Navratil, who was named the outstanding wrestler of the two-day tournament.
"He's just been wrestling real aggressive," MCHS coach Roman Gutierrez said. "He pinned everybody except the guy in the semifinals."
The Las Vegas Tournament started Friday with a 10-team dual-style meet. Teams were placed into two five-team brackets.
The Bulldogs won their bracket, defeating Simarron, 78-0; Faith Lutheran, 82-0; Sierra Vista, 75-6; Liberty, 77-0; and Orange Glen, 58-22.
On Saturday, the format changed to an individual-style tournament. MCHS finished second overall, scoring 207.5 points, more than 70 points behind the Nevada-based Mojave, which scored 275 points.
Navratil went 3-0 en route to the 189-pound individual title, as did tournament champions Brice Boling at 119 pounds, Jake Breslin at 125 pounds, and Trenton Duarte at 171 pounds.
Other second-day results include:
At 103 pounds, Brandon Maigatter went 0-2.
At 112 pounds, Cory Vigil went 2-1 to finish second.
At 130 pounds, Matt Kin--cheloe went 3-1 for third place.
At 135 pounds, Chris McAl--exander finished second with a 2-1 mark.
At 140 pounds, Levi Weber's 2-2 record was good for fourth.
At 145 pounds, Drew Turner went 1-2.
At 152 pounds, Jake Bricker went 1-2
At 160 pounds, Lyle Schaffner went 2-1, en route to a second-place finish.
At 215 pounds, Josh Satterwhite finished second after going 1-1.
And in the heavyweight division, David Hickson went 2-1 to take second.
"I thought we wrestled real aggressive on both days," the coach said. "I was real pleased with their conditioning. ... We just got things done over the weekend. We saw some different styles and different kids."
Up next, the Bulldogs host Delta at 6 p.m. Thursday.
