6:30 p.m. Friends of Northwest Colorado hosts a free screening of the award-winning documentary "Being Caribou" at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave. The film follows filmmaker Leanne Allison and wildlife biologist Karsten Heuer as they spend five months on foot following the migration of the porcupine caribou herd from Old Crow, Yukon, in Canada to the caribou calving ground on the Artic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, and back.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

8 to 9 a.m. The Downtown Business Association has its annual Welcome Breakfast at Serendipity. Everyone is encouraged and welcome to attend. RSVP at Serendipity. Cost is $6 per person.

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Craig/Moffat County Economic Development Partnership hold its first meeting of the year at the Holiday Inn.

Thursday, Jan. 18

5 to 7 p.m. The monthly Craig Chamber of Commerce after-hours mixer is at Craig Chiropractic, 563 Pershing St. Call the Chamber at 824-5689.

7 to 8 p.m. The Craig Cancer Support Group meets in the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association's conference room, 745 Russell St. There will be no guest speaker this month.

Saturday, Jan. 20

9:30 a.m. The Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club of Craig is holding a Poker Run, starting at the Freeman parking lot, 10.5 miles north of Highway 13. Groomed trails and off-trail riding is available during the Poker Run. Trail maps furnished at Freeman Trailhead. Entry fee is $10 per hand. Prizes to be awarded at the VFW at 7 p.m., including first place netting 25 percent of the gate; second, 15 percent; and third, 10 percent. Profits go to NOWECOS grooming fund and a local charity. 10 a.m. Snocross racing begins at Hayden Speedway. The public is welcome.

Thursday, Jan. 25

6:47 a.m. The Craig Chamber of Commerce's Wake Up Craig breakfast is at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13. KRAI and the Holiday co-sponsor the event. Horizons Specialized Services hosts the event. The cost is $5. Call 824-5689.

Saturday, Jan. 27

1:30 to 2:30 p.m. SHARE Craig's distribution day is at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 678 School St. Call Karen at 824-7939.

2 to 3 p.m. Craig poets will read their work at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave. David Morris, Jean Tucker, Joyce Phillips, Cheryl Miller and Rozella Bobson will share their poetry. David Morris and Jean Tucker will have copies of their books available for sale. It is free to attend. Light refreshments will be provided. Contact Downtown Books at 824-5343 for more information.
