In its first meeting under a new lineup, the Moffat County Board of County Commissioners will choose among 30 county residents interested in filling positions on nine county boards.
The commission will welcome a new member Tuesday, third district representative Tom Mathers. He replaces outgoing commissioner Daryl Steele.
There are 23 positions open among the nine boards -- the Museum of Northwest Colorado Advisory Board, the Moffat County Library Board, Maybell Community Center Board, 14th Judicial Community Corrections Board, airport advisory board, housing authority board, cemetery board, Moffat County Tourism Board and The Memorial Hospital board.
Commissioners' administrative assistant Erin Miller said the terms of several board members who currently fill the positions are expiring and some have applied for re-appointment.
About 30 county residents have written letters of interest in serving on the boards. Commissioners will review those letters before making the appointments Tuesday.
Commissioners will decide on appointments to each board except the hospital board, Miller said. Those appointments will come later this month, she said, probably during a meeting Jan. 23.
The commissioners are also slated to decide who will serve as ex-officio members on various county boards and organizations. The commissioners divide the responsibilities among themselves, Miller said.
Appointments will be made between 11 and 11:30 a.m.
