Drs. Dennis and Pamela Kinder, who operate a medical practice at 595 Russell St., recently purchased the building.
The couple purchased the building in November from Pamela's parents, Pres and Patti Askew.
Pamela said the couple decided on the purchase because it makes financial sense. Previously the Kinders had been renting the space.
Carolyn Gochee, a chiropractor with an office in the lower level of the building, will continue to practice there.
The Kinders have been practicing medicine for 12 years and have been at the Russell Street location since 2000.
Jona Ely, a family nurse practitioner, has worked with the Kinders for four years.
The Kinders also decided recently to change the office's name. Previously Mountain Medical Specialists, the practice is now known as Kinder Family Clinic.
"We want to make it more noticeable that we really provide care for families," Pamela said.
She said the office treats patients from age 1 until death.
"Most of our patients are general primary care patients," Pamela said.
The office will continue to serve specialty needs as well, she said. Dennis specializes in colon, gastrointestinal and cardiac care. Pamela specializes in neurological care.
"Nothing's changing," Pamela said of the office's new name. "If anything, we're just wanting people to know we have a broad base of medicine here."
Galaxy has new owners
New owners recently purchased The Galaxy Restaurant, 524 Yampa Ave.
Friends Jack Chen and Jason Wang purchased the Chinese restaurant on Dec. 28 from John La.
Chen is originally from Rapid City, S.D., and Wang is from Denver.
Manager Lynn He said the restaurant's offerings will remain the same, including the Mongolian Barbecue. He said the owners are adding some Thai dishes to the menu, however.
The restaurant did not close its doors between owners and will keep the bar portion of the restaurant open.
