CIS names citizens

of the month

Craig Intermediate School announced this week its Good Sport Awards and Citizens of the Month for February.

The Good Sport Award winners are: sixth-graders Karla Kulp and Matt Balderston and fifth-graders Tiarra Schroeder and Nestor Arellano.

The Citizens of the Month are: Leann Showalter, John Sipe, Brook Trail, Tiarra Schroeder, Ping Wu, Yasmine Chavez, Shane Porter, Sitclali Nevarez, Makayla Camilletti, Erika Straus, Nicole Sollenberger, Hunter Richardson, Cameron Cook, Alan Miller and Taylor Brenner.

Full moon open house at Yampa River Park

Yampa River State Park, two miles west of Hayden on U.S. Highway 40, is having a Full Moon and Ski Open House from 2 to 8 p.m. March 3.

Visitors can cross-country ski on the groomed nature trail, skate on the pond and enjoy roasted hot dogs, hot cocoa and coffee. Visitors also are encouraged to bring ingredients to make S'mores, where they can roast marshmallows around the fire.

The Visitor Center and retail outlet will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Colorado State Parks annual passes will be for sale and vehicle registrations can be made as well. The Visitor Center also features impressive displays of local history and are an example of how Colorado Lottery dollars are used.

DOW to offer hunter safety class

The Colorado Division of Wildlife will sponsor a hunter safety class at 6 p.m. Monday, March 12 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Craig. For more information, call 824-3628.
