Lucky number 13.
In a game that had 13 lead changes, the Moffat County Bulldogs took a 43-42 lead with 6:52 left in the fourth quarter and expanded the lead the rest of the quarter for a 64-55 win.
It was a sweet ending for seniors Evan Hertzog, Andrew Drake and Kaleb McKey, who finished their high school careers with a win.
After a high-scoring first half, Eagle Valley led 34-32. Moffat was kept in the game in the first quarter by sophomore Collin Jackson who scored seven consecutive points.
Junior Eli Buckner scored six points in the second quarter for the Bulldogs.
The scoring slowed to a snail's pace in the third quarter for both teams. Eagle Valley led, 40-39, at third quarter
Three straight steals to start the fourth by the Bulldogs allowed for a 45-42 lead with 6:35 left.
Fittingly a senior, Evan Hertzog, hit two free throws with 36.6 seconds left to ice the game, 60-54.
Buckner led the team with 20 points.
The win improved the Bulldogs to 4-10 in the Western Slope League to finish the season.
