Craig The Craig Chamber of Commerce plans to host another customer service seminar open to all businesses from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Holiday Inn.
The seminar, hosted by SkillPath, is expected to cost $20 for members and $55 for non-members.
The fee includes lunch and all workshop materials.
"The Chamber needs to provide assistance to its members," said Bryce Jacobson, a member of the Chamber board of directors and Craig Daily Press publisher. "I'm excited to offer this because it will make a difference in Chamber members' bottom line."
SkillPath is a business training seminar firm out of Mission, Kan.
Its 10-step presentation to Craig businesses is scheduled to include topics such as difficult customers, creating loyal customers and how to say no without turning people away.
The Chamber expects 130 guests at the event and has sold 10 percent of reservations so far.
The Bank of Colorado, Colorado Northwest Community College and the Craig Daily Press are sponsoring the event, but the Chamber is looking for two more.
In other business news:
• Mario Rodriguez, manager for Fiesta Jalisco in Steamboat Springs, is confident the Craig location will open in the next two weeks.
"It's not open yet because of the health permits," Rodriguez said. "We have the permit from the fire department, and we sent the health application to Denver (on Aug. 13). It'll take about two weeks, and then we can open as soon as we get the application back."
Rodriguez said the original health application sent to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment was incomplete, which is the biggest cause for the delays in opening.
