Sue Birch, executive director of Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, has been appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter to sit on the Blue Ribbon Commission for Healthcare Reform Rural Advisory Task Force. During its 2006 legislative session, the Colorado General Assembly passed Senate Bill 208, establishing the Blue Ribbon Commission for Healthcare Reform. The commission's purpose is to study and establish healthcare reform models that expand healthcare coverage and decrease healthcare costs for Colorado residents. The task force provides focused input to the commission on proposals selected for evaluation. Birch will participate in task force activities until the final report is delivered to the General Assembly on Jan. 31, 2008. Local talent sought for concert
The Craig Concert Association is inviting musicians, singers and dancers to try out for the Local Talent Concert.
The try-outs are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Moffat County High School auditorium. Try-outs should be 3 to 5 minutes long.
The Local Talent Concert is scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 9 at the high school auditorium. Call Jim Simpson at 824-4138 for more information.
