Levi Baysinger, who will be a fifth-grader this fall, pulls himself out of the water in the Craig Swimming Complex wave pool Tuesday night during the 2007 Summer Splash. The event continues from 8:30 to 10 p.m. today for seventh- and eighth-graders. The admission charge of $5 includes swimming, pizza and pop.
Today
10 a.m. to noon. The Moffat County Libraries Craig branch, 570 Green St., hosts a 2007 Summer Reading Program Completion Party. Events include storytelling, flannel board, puppet show, magic show and prize drawings.
4 to 6 p.m. The Equality in Health cooperative hosts the second Cultural Competency Panel in Steamboat Springs. The panel is a forum to increase awareness about health care issues for the Hispanic/Latino community. 8:30 to 10 p.m. The Grand Futures Prevention Coalition hosts Summer Splash Party for seventh- and eighth-graders at Craig City Pool. Admission is $5 per person and covers pizza, soda and swimming.

8 p.m. to midnight. The Craig Fire/Rescue Firefighter's Ball is at the OP Bar and Grill, 534 E. Victory Way. Cost per ticket is $10. Tickets can be purchased from any firefighter, at the station or by calling 824-5914.

7 p.m. Comunidad Integrada offers a free English and Spanish learning club, Intercambio, every Tuesday at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40. Call 846-5521.
Wednesday, Aug. 8
8 a.m. The Craig Downtown Business Association meets at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. The second Wednesday of each month is a meet-and-greet, hosted by a local business.
9 a.m. Rally for the Cure Golf event will be held at the Yampa Valley Golf Course. It is a scramble format. There is a $40 entry fee, which includes lunch, prizes and a Golf for Women magazine subscription; however, the fee does not cover green fees or cart. The event benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Moffat County Cancer Society. Call Susan at 824-9656.
Thursday, Aug. 9
Life Line Screening to detect arterial abnormalities, which can cause disrupted blood flow that leads to strokes will be at the Elk's Lodge #1577 of Craig. Pre-registration is required by calling 1-800-324-1851.
3 to 6 p.m. The Downtown Business Association is sponsoring a farmer's market at Alice Pleasant Park, off of Yampa Avenue. Those wishing to sell their products need to bring their own tables, change and price signs. Call Carol Jacobson at 824-5343.
