MCHS swim team places 14th out of 18

The Moffat County High School boys swim team placed 14th out of 18 4A and 5A teams last weekend at the Jeffco Invite in Denver.
The Bulldogs tallied 74 points in the two-day tournament.
Tyler Kalsow qualified for state competition in the 50-meter freestyle in 23.97 seconds.
Cole Worsley came in second place overall with a time of 22.70.
Patti Worsley, MCHS coach, said everyone swam really well.
"We are climbing the ladder," she said. "It was a great meet overall."
Cole placed fourth in the 100 free in 50.55 seconds.
The 200 relay team of Kyle Steitz, Andrew Aultman, Kalsow and Cole Worsley finished eighth in 1:38.80.
Steitz recorded his best time of the season in the 200 individual medley with a 13th-place time of 1:54.43.
In the 100 backstroke, Steitz clocked an eighth-place time of 1:06.68.
The junior varsity 200 free relay team of Trenton Taylor, Ryan Just, Brian Corey and Donald Penner made the finals with a time of 1:56.11.
"Our goal is to do well at regionals and at state," Patti Worsley said. "They are going to work really hard this week before we begin tapering."
MCHS joins Durango and Grand Junction at Glenwood Springs 10 a.m. Saturday.
