To the editor:
We're writing in support of Ray Beck for a position on the Craig City Council.
We've known Ray for many years. When Ray organized the first Friends of the NRA banquet, money was raised that allowed us to purchase target rifles and place a concrete pad under a shooting canopy at the Bears Ears range for the 4H Shooting Sports program.
He taught the NRA's Refuse to Be a Victim classes.
Both of our daughters attended one of these excellent classes that he held for the young women graduating from Moffat County High School.
Ray has served on the Craig Planning and Zoning Commission since June of 2003 and helped develop the city's new land use codes along with all the other work the commission does.
He's a member of Club 20, a voice for the Western Slope in our state government and for Colorado at the national level. Ray is a 35-year employee for Yampa Valley Electric, and he's attended City Council meetings since the first of the year. He's dedicated and hard working. Ray has the city's interest at heart, and he's here for the long haul.
Please come to the Centennial Mall and vote in the City Election on Tuesday, April 3rd. Help re-elect Don Jones as mayor because he's done an outstanding job leading the city.
Help re-elect Joe Herod to the City Council because he's also done a great job.
