Furniture Gallery moves to larger, visible location

With 8,500 square feet in showroom space on a corner lot, Steve Bell thinks his furniture store will thrive at its new location.

He and his wife, Patricia, own The Furniture Gallery of Craig, and are moving the store from Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way, to 385 Ranney St., the former location of Cashway Distributors. The store was in Centennial Mall eight months.

"We've outgrown this store. We knew we would," Steve said. "We were looking for a better location and we found it. We're excited about the move."

The Bells will open the store on Ranney Street on April 20, under a 10-year lease, where Steve said the store will have better visibility and a total of 10,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space.

But first, the former sportsmen's store will be updated with arched ceilings, wood floors, new carpet and a waterfall feature.

"We want you to walk in and have your mouth drop," Steve said.

Furniture Gallery carries "anything imaginable for your home," Steve said, ranging from bedroom suites and leather sofas to TVs, lamps and accessories.

"If you can't find what you want in our store, it probably doesn't exist," he said.

The Bells live in Hayden and have spent several years in Steamboat Springs, which Steve said adds to the store's offerings.

"That's why the look we have is a Steamboat look," he said. "People who want quality come to this store ... quality that's worth the investment. It's things that are going to last you a lifetime."
