When Melvin Cox fell from his logging truck last month, his first thought was that he was lucky to have landed on his feet. He soon realized that the 12-foot fall shattered both of his heels, broke most of his toes and fractured his right ankle. He lay on the ground in pain for an hour before the next truck arrived to help him.

Council won’t make exception for Habitat

On Monday night, Marilyn Bouldin was elected president of the Moffat County chapter of Habitat for Humanity. On Tuesday night, she was dealt her first set-back as the Craig City Council turned down the organization’s request to waive building permit fees for the group’s project house at 745 Yampa Ave.

To the editor: We recently received a phone call from (Moffat County) High School saying that the Chinese flag that we donated, on behalf of our four daughters who were adopted from China, would be returned to us. The flag had been part of a beautiful display of colorful flags in the high school commons, many of which were brought by exchange students from all over the world.

Kenneth George Blevins was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Craig, to Alfred G. and Ferma Irene (Talkington) Blevins. He was raised and attended school in Craig. Kenneth joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 and served for the next 20 years. He was stationed in various places including England, Spain, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan and San Diego and at bases in the United States.
