9 to 9:30 a.m. The Moffat County Department of Social Services distributes U.S. Department of Agriculture commodities in Maybell at the Community Center. All households that receive commodities must be recertified each year. A picture ID, proof of address and income or current eligibility is required. 6 to 7:30 p.m. The Colorado Council on High School/College Relations will host a college fair at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane. About 40 colleges and universities will attend. Call Paula Duzik at 824-7036.

7 p.m. "Patch the Pirate Club," featuring character stories, kids' choir and daily devotions, takes place for children ages 4 to 12 at Yampa Valley Baptist Church, 3900 E. Victory Way. Call Pastor Dale Potter at 824-5424.

9 a.m. Life Line Screening stroke assessments are at the Elks Lodge 1577, 43 W. Victory Way. Appointments begin at 9 a.m. Registration is required. Call (877) 237-1287 to schedule an appointment or for more information.

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Craig/Moffat County Economic Development Partnership meets at the Holiday Inn, 300 S. Colorado Hwy. 13. Pioneer Natural Resources will give a presentation on natural gas exploration and will accept questions from the public.

5 to 7 p.m. The Craig Chamber of Commerce Business After-hours Mixer will be at Craig Sports. Stop by its new location, 1598 W. Victory Way, for food, networking and door prizes. The community is invited.

Friday, Sept. 22

Noon. Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide meets at the Craig Mental Health Center and Steamboat Mental Health Center. Lunch will be served.
