Instant Replay Sports moves store across Victory Way

Mike and Chris Anthony didn't have to carry their things far.

The couple owns Instant Replay Sports and moved locations -- from 18 W. Victory Way to 19 W. Victory Way -- on Aug. 1.

"My other half always wanted to be in this spot because it's got a loft and it's a nifty space," Chris said.

She said the space is about the same size as the previous location, but the loft allows more space and better organization.

Plus, Chris said business has increased since they moved the shop to the north side of Victory Way. She attributes that to increased visibility.

"And we've got some new signage up on the windows you've pretty much got to be blind to miss," she said.

Instant Replay offers new and consignment items for hockey, football, track, volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer and wrestling, and sells a line of tennis shoes. Chris said she also has some used cross-country and snowboarding gear.

"I've been toying with the idea of expanding into trophies," Chris said.

The couple opened the store in October 2004 and have been well received by the community.

"Every day we get a lot of, 'Boy, we're glad you're here because we don't have to take our chances on the Internet or go down to Grand Junction to shop,'" Chris said. "And that was the whole point of this, to offer this in the Yampa Valley."

Edward Jones hosts grand opening

The public is invited to a grand opening celebration of the second Edward Jones office in Craig.

The grand opening is from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the new office, 12 W. Victory Way. It will include food, refreshments and door prizes. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Bryan Ludgate, who has worked with investment representative Doug Davis at the first Edward Jones office since August 2005, operates the new office, which opened in July.

"We're growing," Ludgate said. "Edward Jones has been in Craig for 19 years. The way Doug Davis' and my business have been growing, this is necessary. Plus, another location makes it more convenient for customers."

Ludgate, an investment representative, has been in Craig for a year and with Edward Jones for three years. He previously worked at a Casper, Wyo., office.

He said he is enthusiastic about the opening of the second Craig office.

"I'm very excited, it just gives a great opportunity to build my business here in Craig," Ludgate said. "We've had great success in Craig and the Yampa Valley, and I am excited to build here and spend the rest of my life here."
