Military news: Logan James Grant

Logan James Grant, son of James and Jane Ann Grant, formerly of Craig, recently completed 13 weeks of physical conditioning and mental fatigue mastering marksmanship, drill, military customs and courtesies, and martial arts during U.S. Marine Corps boot camp.
His training culminated with a teamwork exercise known as the crucible, in which his platoon covered 45 miles on foot in three days while averaging two hours of sleep per night and one meal a day. Pvt. Grant earned the title of United States Marine when he graduated on Oct. 20.
He is a 2006 Farmington, N.M., High School graduate. Grant will go on to the School of Infantry and Basic Reconnaissance Course, Marine Corps Special Operations Command, Coronado, Calif.
