Love INC distributes coats

Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ) of the Yampa Valley is sponsoring a community coat drive.

The next set of distribution dates has been scheduled. Anyone, regardless of income, may get a free coat. Residents are limited to one coat per person per year.

Upcoming distribution dates:

  • 8 a.m. to noon today and Friday, Monday through Oct. 4 -- Calvary Baptist Church, 1050 Yampa Ave.;
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday -- Rangely City Hall building, 209 E. Main, Rangely;
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 -- First Baptist Church, 1150 W. Ninth St.;
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 18 -- Fair Field Center, at Third and Main streets, Meeker; and
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2 -- Ridgeview West Apartments, 615 Riford Road.

Coats also will be distributed at Sunset Meadows I and II, as well as Sandrock Ridge Care & Rehab, though dates and times have not yet been determined.

Lieutenant governor candidate visits Rangely

Barbara O'Brien, candidate for lieutenant governor with the Bill Ritter campaign, will be on Colorado Northwestern Community College's Rangely campus for a community meeting from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. Monday.

This meeting is open to the community, faculty, staff and students. The meeting will be in the Johnson Building Banquet Room, and participants may go through the cafeteria line for lunch. Lunch cost is $4.53 per person.
