4 to 6 p.m. City Market, 505 W. Victory Way, hosts its second annual open house Christmas celebration. Events include photos with Santa, cookies, prizes and making candy cane reindeers. The event is free.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. BeatiControl consultants offer a Christmas shopping event at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave. Call Melissa Prestangen at 629-8981.
6 p.m. The Parade of Lights opens the Christmas season with floats and entries departing from Craig Middle School and proceeding down Yampa Avenue and west on Victory Way. The Downtown Business Association, Yampa Valley Electric Association and Craig Lions Club sponsor the parade. Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. 5 p.m. Local Union 1799 United Mine Workers of America meets at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.

8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Moffat County Tourism Association hosts workshops for agencies that plan to request funding at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave. Applications are accepted from Dec. 1 to 31. If you cannot attend the workshops, call Shelly Flannery at 824-2335 or 629-3685.

Noon. Comunidad Integrada's first meeting of an English-Spanish conversational group is at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave. The group meets every Saturday. Call Summer Laws at 846-5521.
9 a.m. to noon. The Mite Society of First Christian Church has its annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale at the church fellowship Hall, 960 W. Victory Way. Items for sale include home-baked goods and crafts. Home-baked sweet rolls, coffee and tea will also be for sale.

1:30 to 4 p.m. A Holiday Tree Festival is at the Exhibit Hall at the Routt County Fairgrounds, with trees, wreaths, and centerpieces for sale at auction. Money raised will benefit local non-profit organizations. Call 276-4380.

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A water workshop will be held at Colorado Northwestern Community College. Issues and questions will be addressed concerning water usage from the Yampa River Basin to the seven-state Colorado River Basin. Call 824-1135.

1 to 4 p.m. Colorado Northwestern Community College's criminal justice program invites the community to a personal safety course at the Weiss Activity Center on the Rangely campus. The cost is $10 per person. Call 675-3331.
