DBA plans gingerbread house contest

The Downtown Business Association hosts its third annual Gingerbread House Contest next month.

Entries are due between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave. The houses will be on display through Dec. 16.

The entry fee is $6 to cover the cost of the board. Prizes will be awarded.

Forms may be picked up downtown at KS Kreations or The Kitchen Shop.

City releases holiday trash pick-up schedule

The City of Craig Solid Waste Department will not provide residential trash service on Nov. 23 or Nov. 24.

In order to accommodate the city's residential customers during Thanksgiving, trash service is offered as follows:

n Trash will be picked up on Nov. 20 for those whose trash is regularly picked up on Mondays and Tuesdays,

n Trash will be picked up on Nov. 21 for those whose trash is regularly picked up on Wednesdays and Thursdays,

n Trash will be picked up on Nov. 22 for those whose trash is regularly picked up on Fridays.

Humane Society

calendars available

The Humane Society of Moffat County has 2007 PetMates calendars available.

Calendars are available at the Holiday Craft Show today at Centennial Mall. They also are available at Kester's Jewelry, Downtown Books, Paws-A-Tively Pet Grooming and The Kitchen Shop.

The calendars cost $12.

All proceeds from the calendars benefit various Humane Society projects, including transferring animals to no-kill shelters, low-cost spay and neutering program, assisting pet owners in times of medical crisis and short-term emergency care for animals.
