Destrie Lee Shroyer

Destrie Lee Shroyer was born on May 16, 1960, in Rifle, to Robert and Lila (Erickson) Shroyer. He was raised and attended school in Rifle graduating from Rifle High School with the Class of 1978.
Destrie worked at Union Carbide in Rifle and for Rifle Sheet Metal. Destrie was injured about 20 years ago while doing fencing work and has been unable to work since. He married Nini Strode on Aug. 1, 1985, in Florida. They lived in Rifle until moving to Craig 10 years ago.
Destrie loved his wife, children, family and his animals.
He died on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at his home near Craig.
He is survived by his wife, Nini Shroyer of Craig; daughter, Nini Ann Shroyer of Craig; sons, Destrie William Shroyer and Wyatt Lee Shroyer, both of Craig; parents, Robert and Lila Shroyer of Grand Junction; sisters, Carnell (Joe) Trujillo of Phoenix, Ariz., and Lorrie (Steve) Raffensperger of Rifle; brother, Robert (Carrie) Shroyer Jr. of Rifle; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Memorial services were held on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Grant Mortuary in Craig, with Pastor Rod Compton officiating. Memorial donations may be made to a memorial fund for his children in the name of Lorrie Raffensperger in care of American National Bank, 429 Railroad Ave., Rifle, CO 81650.
